reflection on 2nd peer review

After reviewing Casey’s paper I think I can go back to my paper and fix some things. One thing Casey forgot was an appendix and that made me realize that I need to add one in too. Also I realized I can go back into my methods section and change some things.

reflection on peer review

After reviewing Ellie’s paper I think the comments I made can also be applied to my own paper. Some things I suggested Ellie were to check in text citations, add more information to the results section, and try to be more concise. I can go back over my paper and make sure I cited my information correctly and didn’t make any errors. I can also go back and try to shorten sentences. After analyzing her paper I also realized I need to add more headers to my paper so it is more organized.

Intro and methods

Introduction Social media has become a everyday thing for teens in the United States. In 2015, pew research center did a study that found 92% of teens report going online daily and more than half of those teens use social media more than once a day. Social media has so many different effects on teenagers today. There are times where social media positively affects teens, but studies show the negative effects of social media outweigh the positive ones. Topic proposal

The topic I chose to do research on is today's teens and how they are affected by social media. This topic is important because social media is such a big thing that so many people use. The majority of people who use social media are teens and I want to do research on how it can effect their lives negatively/positively. Two research questions that can be used for this topic are how does social media affect teens self-esteem? or What are the affects of social media on body image? For my research I plan to make a survey on google forms that has a variety of questions about my topic. I will send this survey to a big sample of people so I can receive a variety of feedback.

IMRaD report differences

The style of IMRad writing is very different from papers I would write in high school. In high school, I usually wrote papers in the normal argumentative format so IMRaD is new to me. The purpose of a IMRaD report is to structure a scientific article. IMRad stands for intro, methods results, and discussion. To organize all the information those are the different sections it is split up into which is different from a APA argumentative paper because it uses different headings. The other difference between a normal argumentative paper and a IMRaD is a IMRad is based off a experiment or a survey. This is what is used to prove your point and present a claim. While in an argumentative paper it isn't necessary to conduct a experiment.
