Show commercial-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t6bLugtJkQ   Purpose : The purpose of this commercial is to appeal to our  emotions  so the audience can see  how  a relationship with a Chevy can be  just as meaningful as the relationship with a childhood pet. W hich will make people want to purchase a Chevy.    Proving the thesis:  The commercial uses  a story of a women and her childhood pet to make us emotional. M any different aspects   are used  to make us feel an emotional connection to the video.   The actress's facial expressions are used to make the audience feel what she is feeling. As the commercial shows us major milestones the woman has experienced we see a variety emotion. When she is graduating and moving in to a new home we see how she is  has  a huge smile on her face showing her happiness. Then we see the first time she is learning to drive a car and we can tell she is ner...

commercial analysis

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t6bLugtJkQ     This commercial I picked is a Chevy commercial from 2014. Looking at the rhetoric triangle, Chevy is the presenter in this commercial and the target is people looking to buy a new car. I think the commercial also targets dog lovers. The commercial starts out showing us a woman with her dog that seems to be sick/old. Then the commercial shows us a bunch of moments from the woman’s life and her dog was with her through all of them.  Including a moment when she is learning how to drive a Chevy and the dog is in the car with her.  They start in present day and flashback all the way to the first day she got her dog. The purpose is to make the audience feel emotional by using pathos. We see how strong the relationship is with her and her dog. The commercial foreshadows that the dog is about to be put down so this makes the audience sad, but at the same time watching all the memories between the dog and her owner makes t...

sources for AR paper

https://journals.lww.com/jnr-twna/Fulltext/2018/08000/End_of_Life_Care_Discussion_for_Residents_With.3.aspx The first source I found for my paper is a research journal that discusses life care for dementia patients. The genre of this source is a research essay. The purpose of this essay is to present information to people in the medical field.I will be using this journal as one of my academic pieces and analyze its structure, language and references. 2. https://www-sciencedirect-com.proxy.lib.uiowa.edu/science/article/pii/S0964339718300600 The other source I found I plan on using it as one of my academic articles. It is a research journal that analyzes a case study. It presents information about the study and tries to come to a conclusion on why the case happened. I can tell it is academic because it uses very formal vocab that people in the nursing field would understand. The article references a lot of information about the case study so the author can back up the theo...

AR assignment

For this assignment we are asked to interview someone in our field of study and ask them about writing in their profession. The goal of this interview is to learn about the style of writing that is needed for our profession. We then need to find at least six writings in our field and analyze them for certain styles and genres of writing. Instead of writing a persuasive essay we are writing a analysis essay that will present information about writing in our major. This will increase our knowledge on the types of writings we will be doing in our field of study. questions 1. Will we be including the answers from the interview in our paper or is that for our own knowledge? 2. How many questions should we ask in our interviews? 3. Is our audience we're writing to the people who are in the same field as us?

what is rhetoric?

Rhetoric is the study of effective writing and speaking that can be used to persuade an audience.
